Before we begin, it's important to acknowledge that the ability to consider happiness beyond material success is often a privilege granted once basic needs such as food, water, and shelter are met. It's a reality that for many around the world, the focus is on fulfilling these fundamental needs.
That being said, for those of us who are fortunate enough to have these basics covered, there is a common misconception that correlates happiness only with material success.
But is that truly the case?
From my personal experience, I have found joy in things beyond material possessions and achievements.
Here's how I do it:
✨ Giving my best to the work I do and solving seemingly unsolvable problems
✨ Spending cherished moments with my family, pets, and friends
✨ Experiencing the joy of creativity and igniting passions in others
✨ Feeling the earth beneath my feet, wind on my skin, and the awe of clouds overhead or waves crashing
✨ Going on adventures and learning new things
✨ Helping my mentees achieve their goals
✨ Feeling grateful for what I’ve achieved so far
✨ Travelling for learning, business meetings, or just to explore new things
It’s all about understanding what truly brings you fulfillment.
Be grateful and you’ll find a way to be happy beyond material success.
To understand what non-materialistic factors contribute to your happiness and fulfillment, ask yourself this question:
What are some non-materialistic factors that make me truly happy?
Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
It can be anything…
For me, I have found immense peace and joy from all these non-materialistic aspects of my life.
And now, material possessions and achievements don’t excite me more than leading a purposeful life.
Are you living a happy life too? If not, perhaps it's time to find a real purpose in life.
If you're having trouble identifying your non-material sources of happiness, perhaps you could benefit from some guidance.
