š Breath of the Dragon, Lesson 18:
āDedication isnāt burning out for the causeāitās showing up with energy, focus, and care so you can go the distance without losing yourself.ā
š āA dragon that flies without rest will burn its wings before reaching the horizon.ā
For too long, weāve equated dedication with depletion.
Work until collapse.
Prove your loyalty by what you sacrifice.
Show your worth by how much of yourself youāre willing to burn.
But burnout is not a badge of honor.
Itās a signal that youāve been flying with someone elseās definition of dedication.
In The Leadership Leap, Chapter 7: Redefining What Matters, I write about how values and convictions shape our choices. If your dedication is fueled by fear, fear of failing, fear of being unseen, fear of disappointing others, it will eat you alive.
But if your dedication is fueled by clarity, clarity of what you truly value, what impact you want to create, and who you refuse to abandon (yourself included) , then your energy becomes renewable.
Dedication is not self-erasure.
Dedication is alignment.
Itās the choice to show up, not emptied, but whole.
Because only whole leaders can carry others.
Only whole leaders endure to the horizon.
All are, including you, are innately worthy. ā¤ļøāš„
š¬ Where in your life are you burning your wings to prove your dedication, and how might you realign so your flight becomes sustainable, powerful, and free?
š² On September 25 in Utrecht, Iāll be reading live from The Leadership Leap, signing books, and hosting a live coaching evening where weāll explore how to redefine dedication in ways that protect both our fire and our future.
