Where dragons gather, the real conversations begin. 🐉
Our latest Tânydraig Campfire session was a heartfelt blend of the personal and political, the practical and the philosophical. With warm drinks in hand and the flicker of digital firelight around us, we shared, supported, and sparked new insights across continents and contexts.
Everyday Challenges, Shared Strength
The evening began with a surprisingly relatable struggle , a camera that refused to cooperate on Zoom. From there, the conversation meandered into life transitions, such as adapting to an empty nest and navigating the emotional ripple effects that come with it. There was a collective sigh of recognition as we talked about those lonely weekends, messy rooms, and the strange in-between space of parenting older children.
One participant opened up about executive function challenges and the seemingly small but significant task of cleaning a room. Others offered both empathy and strategies - a reminder of the power of practical support over pressure.
Big Projects & Final Pushes
A major milestone is on the horizon I work through the final stages of publishing my book. The group offered encouragement and accountability as they reviewed formatting, tackled the last “mazes” of edits, and shared plans for digital and print distribution. From bolding decisions to audiobook aspirations, the process itself became a metaphor for leading with care, even when the finish line feels overwhelming.
Learning, Leadership & Letting Go
Leadership surfaced as a recurring theme, not just in titles, but in transitions. One participant reflected on leaving a team soon and the complex emotions of preparing others to lead in their absence. Another spoke about returning from holiday only to find the team had shifted in unexpected ways. Through these reflections, the campfire became a space to question traditional leadership expectations and celebrate quieter, more empowering forms of influence.
We also talked study habits and perfectionism, course facilitation fears, and what it means to show up as your full self, even in structured learning environments. There was a lot of laughter as we shared awkward moments and unfiltered truths about “coaching mode,” derailments, and public speaking.
Politics, Policy & Personal Impact
As the evening continued, our dragons ventured into deeper global waters. We explored the weight of current events, from controversial political figures to global economic decisions like tariffs and trade strategies. The group didn’t shy away from complexity, wrestling with the historical roots of modern-day conflicts, the ethics of leadership, and the way personal values can guide how we engage with international news.
Discussions ranged from executive orders to international relations, legal controversies, and university politics. While the topics were serious, the tone remained grounded, a reminder that hope and action begin with understanding, not just opinion.
Looking Ahead
As always, we closed with intention and care, not with a to-do list, but with a shared commitment to continued growth. Whether it’s preparing for a certification exam, practicing facilitation, or simply taking a well-earned bath after a long day - every step counts.

Thank you to those who brought their voice, their heart, and their perspective to the fire. These are the conversations that remind us: leadership is human, learning is lifelong, and we don’t have to do it alone. Until next time - keep tending your flame.
With firelight and gratitude,
The Tânydraig Circle 💚🔥
